BHP Billiton Foundation Science & Engineering Awards

The BHP Billiton Foundation Science and Engineering Awards are Australia's most prestigious school science and engineering awards. The awards are a partnership between CSIRO, the BHP Billiton Foundation and the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA).

Entry to the awards is via nomination only through a state or territory science teacher association competition. There are three major awards - Investigations, Engineering and Innovator to Market. Check out our previous finalists and winners for ideas on how each category works. Student finalists also have the chance to represent the awards at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in the United States of America.

Your journey with the awards doesn't stop after the ceremony, we have an Alumni network that gives members the opportunity to connect with fellow finalists. Check out their stories.

We also recognise the outstanding contributions made by classroom teachers to science education. Entry to the BHP Billiton Foundation Science and Engineering Teacher Award is via nomination through a state or territory science teacher association. Check out our previous finalists and winners here
